AUSTIN – (December 13, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $162,994,350 for water and wastewater system projects. Of this funding, $57,254,350 was approved for rural projects.

  • $79.5 million to the City of Arlington (Tarrant County) for water system improvements
  • $6,345,000 to the Beaver Creek Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Burleson County) for water system improvements
  • $3.3 million to the Moffat Water Supply Corporation (Bell County) for water system improvements
  • $500,000 to the City of Bevil Oaks (Jefferson County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project
  • $438,000 to the Hardin County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Hardin County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project
  • $13,375,000 to Kerr County for a wastewater system project
  • $13,816,350 to North Alamo Water Supply Corporation (Hidalgo County) for a wastewater system project
  • $1 million to the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District (Armstrong, Carson, Donley, Gray, Hutchinson, Potter, Roberts, and Wheeler counties) for an agricultural water conservation equipment loan program
  • $28,905,000 to the City of Brady (McCulloch County) for water system improvements
  • $12,865,000 to the El Paso Water Utilities Public Service Board acting on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County) for wastewater system improvements
  • $2.5 million to the City of Shallowater (Lubbock County) for water and wastewater system improvements
  • $450,000 to the City of Whiteface (Cochran County) for water system improvements

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
